ESSAY :: GLITCH|STITCH :: SENSING SURVIVAL IN ZIBA RAJABI’S GLITCHED HOME

ARTIST RESIDENCY :: ann ‘sole sister’ johnson :: MAKING IT :: FINDING IT
As part of the Hurford Center’s Tuttle Artist-in-Residence Program at Haverford College, Ann Johnson led a series of participatory workshops based in her practice. Participants, inspired by her series BLING CATCHERS, created a series of works that were exhibited in the VCAM space following her residency.
ARTIST RESIDENCY :: ZIBA RAJABI :: VISCERA::POETICS
For Rajabi’s sense::archivist residency at Princeton University, participants composed “visual poems” from the visceral relations of their own memories re-embodied through materials Ziba prepared and practices she led us through.
ARTIST RESIDENCY :: SHANNON ALONZO :: WET::DRY::STITCH
WET::DRY::STITCH was a series of multi-sensory, participatory workshops led by SHANNON ALONZO during her Tuttle Artist Residency at Haverford College exploring how hands think in acts of washing, working with charcoal, and stitching.
ARTIST RESIDENCY :: RAÚL ROMERO :: Resonances
The RESONANCES workshops followed Raúl Romero’s art practice and partnered with Prof. Emily Hong’s Introduction to Visual Arts students. During Raúl’s residency at the Hurford Center and VCAM, he invited us to be open to the material aliveness of sound.
