AnN “Sole Sister” Johnson

Tuttle Creative Artist in Residence at Haverford College

MAKING :: IT and FINDING :: IT are two workshops led by aspects of Ann “Sole Sister” Johnson’s art practice. Johnson is an interdisciplinary artist who works across mediums and techniques, including assemblage, archiving, and print-making on non-traditional materials like feathers and leaves. In MAKING :: IT, participants will learn about and try to take on Johnson’s process in making “bling catchers” from Johnson’s series HOOP DREAMS. The second workshop, FINDING :: IT, will focus on the kind of sensory attunement Johnson practices in choosing materials for her non-traditional print-making. Participants will use this attunement to make their versions of Ann’s series NESTING.
