ESSAY :: GLITCH|STITCH :: SENSING SURVIVAL IN ZIBA RAJABI’S GLITCHED HOME
MONICA HUERTA & AVA SHIRAZI, Published in SOCIETY + SPACE, December 2025
Ziba Rajabi's femme interiority in Glitched Home is made of 25,000 canvas-like pixels. Her creating these pixels is a way of feeling through a particular memory of screened proximity and a mediated sense of familial relations. The pixels, then, are another arrangement of archiving. Archiving, in Rajabi's practice, is a way of layering intimacy as a felt dimension. The building out/up/of these intimacies creates the interplay of a sensed dimension; a dimension understood as not only spatial, but psychological, emotional, temporal, all at once.
