ARTIST RESIDENCY :: SHANNON ALONZO :: WET::DRY::STITCH
WET::DRY::STITCH was a series of multi-sensory, participatory workshops exploring how hands think in acts of washing, working with charcoal, and stitching. Part of what drew us to Shannon’s practice was her deeply archival approach, through which she researches, for example, the washerwomen of Trinidad, the erasures of experience that live there, and the carnival rituals that offer both portals into layered time and liberatory practices.
